Institutional Effectiveness

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) initiates and coordinates the evaluation of college effectiveness toward fulfilling the mission of Southern Crescent Technical College through a collaborative, continuous, and comprehensive system of assessment, research, and planning activities. Planning and evaluation processes at Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) reflect the College’s commitment to the systematic assessment of outcomes and the use of results for continuous improvement of programs and services.

QEP Survey

In 2014, our college will be undergoing a SACS-COC visit. One-half of the visit will consist of the college meeting various "Compliance" standards, which include items like reviewing our Strategic Plan, our Outcomes, etc.

The other half of the visit will be an evaluation of our "QEP", or "Quality Enhancement Plan". The QEP is a formal plan that the college will use to implement improvement in an area of student learning. The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is the component of the reaffirmation process that reflects and affirms the commitment of the Commission on Colleges to enhancing the quality of higher education in the region and to focusing attention on student learning. The QEP describes a carefully designed course of action that addresses a well-defined and focused topic or issue related to enhancing student learning and/or the environment supporting student learning and accomplishing the mission of the institution.

Our College is currently undergoing the developing stages of forming the Quality Enhancement Plan. To begin this process, the QEP Topic Selection Committee is leading efforts to choose a topic for the QEP. To choose a topic, though, we are in need of feedback from faculty, staff, students, and the community.
