Georgia's Quick Start program is nationally recognized for providing high-quality training services at no cost to new or expanding businesses in Georgia. Since 1967, Quick Start has provided customized training for hundreds of thousands of employees for thousands of businesses and industries throughout the state.
Under the auspices of the Technical College System of Georgia, Southern Crescent Technical College sponsors the Quick Start program for new and expanding industries. Quick Start offers customized training programs, pre-employment training, recruiting, screening, and testing services. The program provides training for all types of companies such as manufacturers, warehouse and distribution centers, national and international corporate headquarters, information technology based companies, and customer service operations. It includes both pre-employment and post-employment training as well.
Quick Start services are provided at no cost to the company for those that are eligible for the services. Eligibility is based on such factors as capital investment, impact on the local economy, number of new employees, employee wage rate, community involvement, and level of planned technology.
Upon completion of the Quick Start project, the resources of Southern Crescent Technical College stand ready to deliver customized contract training to businesses in the service area. This Office will service the long-term training needs of the company. In addition to the customized workshops, training plans can be developed through the numerous diploma, degree, and certificate programs routinely offered whose tuition and fees may be partially paid with HOPE Scholarship and HOPE Grant funds for Georgia residents.
Economic and Industrial Development Authorities are encouraged to investigate all the advantages that Quick Start has to offer. For more information, contact the Vice President for Economic Development at (770) 228-7367.
