Southern Crescent Technical College provides career and job search assistance for current students, graduates, and alumni through our Career Services Office. Computer stations with marked job site listings, informational brochures, applications, resume samples, along with listing of current General Jobs are available. The Center is staffed to provide daily assistance Monday through Thursday.
The programs and services provided by the Career Services Office enhance job readiness and employability skills. Services include assisting graduates and students in securing employment, assessing career opportunities and designing career advancement strategies.
Southern Crescent Technical College sponsors an annual Career Connection event for area employers to visit Southern Crescent Technical College and talk with students about their companies and employment opportunities. Activities are planned for faculty and employer representatives to network and make positive connections for future job leads. Career Services works with graduates, faculty/staff and employers to collect comprehensive employment statistical data.
Institutions providing gainful employment programs offer important opportunities to all students seeking to expand their skills and earn a postsecondary degree or certificate. The Federal Government along with the Department of Education has a strong interest in ensuring that institutions of higher education promote student academic and career opportunities and has put into place Gainful Employment regulations to make sure these guidelines have been met. Gainful Employment provides details to all students about their particular program and the possibility of being gainfully employed upon completion of your certificate and/or degree. Students should apply for Graduation ONE TERM prior to the actual graduation date. There will be a graduation ceremony in December for the Fall Term and in May for the Spring Term. The Graduation instructions below detail the fees, forms and signatures required for graduation. There is also information on the assistance provided by Career Services for graduates seeking employment.
Employers wishing to post a Job Announcement can do so by completing the Job Posting Documentand returning it via email or fax to Career Services.

FOCUS is a self-paced, online career and education planning tool for use by college students. It will enable you to self-assess your career relevant personal qualities and explore career fields and major areas of study that are most compatible with your assessment results. Students who use FOCUS make better decisions about their goals and plans and learn how to self-manage their careers. Use FOCUS to help you choose or change your major and also to verify your preferences or early choice of a career field. |
