Southern Crescent Technical College is committed to the success of each student, from the moment one enters our doors for the first time to graduation and beyond. On Wednesday, February 22, the Career and Academic Planning (CAP) Center officially began assisting individuals and the needs of our student body. The CAP Center will help with advising new students, choosing a major or career that is right for you, scheduling classes, preparing a resume, and starting a job search.
Susan Murray, Director of Career and Academic Planning, stated “I am excited to have additional assistance for our students all in one place. The Career and Academic Advisors will assist a new student who is not quite sure what they want to major in, to a current student who needs assistance registering for the right classes to complete their program in a timely manner. When a student is close to graduation, we hold workshops to help them prepare their resume and begin their job search. The faculty has been very supportive with this new service. We stay in contact with all the program coordinators during advisement to ensure our students are being served effectively and efficiently.”
Each of the eight Career and Academic Advisors is available to assist students in room 107 of Building 200 on the Griffin Campus and in room 250 of Building A on the Flint River Campus.
