Dr. Monique Brown was recently named the 2020 Adult Education Instructor of the Year for Southern Crescent Technical College. Dr. Brown has years of dedicated service and teaches on the SCTC Henry County Campus.
Voted on by her peers, the Adult Education Instructor of the Year is awarded annually to recognize the hard work and dedication Adult Education program. These instructors participate in school and community activities, understand the importance of adult education and are committed to the adult/continuing education profession.
Dr. Alvetta Thomas, President of Southern Crescent Technical College, stated, “Dr. Brown has been recognized as Southern Crescent Technical College’s Adult Education Instructor of the Year because of her commitment to the education profession and her outstanding contributions to her students and the Southern Crescent Technical College Adult Education program. What an honor it is for us to have instructors with this level of passion to work with some of our most vulnerable students. Dr. Brown is enthusiastic both in the classroom and in the community and continues to inspire others to achieve at their highest potential.”
Judy Cook-Snider, Assistant Director of Adult Education at Southern Crescent Technical College said, “I have had the honor and the great privilege of working with Dr. Brown for the last six years. She was first my colleague and now as her supervisor, I have witnessed her exceptional capabilities and strengths as an adult education instructor. Her great rapport with all of her students is a result of her compassion, dedication, and enthusiasm. These qualities describe an exceptional educator with a proven track record for success in recruitment, retention, and benchmark attainment. There is no one more deserving of this honor.”
After winning the school title, Brown will go on to compete at the state level and continue to represent Southern Crescent Technical College as an ambassador for technical and adult education.
