Southern Crescent Technical College has been designated as one of the nation’s top military-friendly schools by Victory Media, a leader in connecting the military community to educational and civilian employment opportunities.
Southern Crescent Technical College was recently awarded the Silver level designation in the large community college category of the 2019-2020 Military Friendly Schools list for its outstanding efforts to support military service members and military service family members who are enrolled at the college.
“We are thrilled with this designation and this achievement truly reflects the level of service we try to make available to military service members, past and present, who are currently enrolled at the college. Through our efforts in the Veterans Center and through other resources and support, we want our student veterans to know that we appreciate their service and sacrifice and we want to do everything that we can to help them succeed,” said Southern Crescent Technical College Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Xenia Johns.
Now in its tenth year, the Military Friendly Schools list is determined annually based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans and responses to data-driven surveys from participating institutions. Final ratings also involved an assessment of factors that included student retention, graduation and job placement rates.
The 2019-2020 Military Friendly Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine. This list has come to set the standard for higher education institutions to provide the best opportunities for military service members, veterans and their families.
