Four students from Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) recently attended the Phi Beta Lambda State (PBL) Leadership Conference in Atlanta where they were able to demonstrate their knowledge, professionalism and leadership potential. The students competed in two events each and were able to attend several workshops and general sessions.
Students participated in competitive events focused on several business-related topics. As a result of their stellar competitions, all four students qualified in at least one event and are eligible to attend the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California in June.
2017 State Competition winners and their respective competitive events are as follows:
Wayne Fox – 1st in Cyber Security and 3rd in Information Management
Pam Ross – 1st in Desktop Publishing and 4th in Entrepreneurship Concepts
Miriam Williams – 1st in Public Speaking and 4th in Organizational Behavior and Leadership
Lise Augustine – 2nd in Retail Management and 5th in Organizational Behavior and Leadership
Kim Yevak, Phi Beta Lambda advisor said, “I can honestly say this is the most outstanding group of students I have ever taken to State Conference. They represented themselves and the college extremely well. Never have I had every student from Southern Crescent Technical College on stage for every event in which they competed. This is quite a feat!”
