After earning a Gold medal at the state SkillsUSA competition that was held in late March in Atlanta, Aric Lundy is competing this week in the Plumbing competition at the National SkillsUSA competition in Louisville, Kentucky. Here, students will compete against winners from all across the nation in the largest display of skills training in the country.

SCTC President Dr. Alvetta Thomas said in response to Aric attending the National Competition, “We are so very proud of Aric, his dedication to his studies and all that he has accomplished.  We are all pulling for him and wishing him the best of luck and hoping that he is able to bring home the GOLD!”

Aric’s plumbing instructor and SkillsUSA advisor Billy Elliott along with Advisor & Student Activities Coordinator, Joel Bishop are accompanying Aric on the trip.

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled work force.  They are a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical, and skilled service occupations, including health occupations.
