Thirty two Southern Crescent Technical College students were inducted into the college's chapter of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) during a ceremony held July 12, on the Griffin Campus.
The inductees were: Joarvonia Ashouri, Amari Bell, Kassidy Brown, Morgan Brugonone, Jeffery Caulfield, Hazel Chambers, Norma Cline, Elzenia Dantzler, Susan Dockery, Dorothy Etienne, Rafeal Garcia, Jennifer Goolsby, Beverly Harris-Walker, Davis Hartis, Jamie Harper, Janet Heath, Breanna Hemmings, Richard Hile, Mary Holmes, Stormie Lee, James Madison, Kimberly Massengale, Morgan Morris, Edriria Pope, Laurie Pritchett, Brittani Reheiser, Cassandra Richards, Jennifer Robinson-Person, Sierra Sawyer, Sumer Smith, Anthony Weaver, and Dannesha White.
The National Technical Honor Society exists to recognize deserving technical students for their talents and abilities. The organization promotes the ideals of honesty, service, leadership, and skill development among America's future workforce, and rewards scholastic achievement in career and technical education.
“The goal of the society is to recognize deserving students and make others aware of the talents and abilities of the young people who choose technical education as a way of achieving a successful future," said NTHS Advisor Dr. Tahesha Wade. "The purpose of the honor society is to award scholastic achievement and to help build a more positive image for technical students, programs and schools in the local community and throughout the nation."
The National Technical Honor Society is a nonprofit organization established to honor student achievement and leadership in career and technical education, promote educational excellence, award scholarships, and enhance career opportunities for the NTHS membership. In order to be considered for membership in the NTHS Chapter at Southern Crescent Technical College, students must be a diploma or degree student with a cumulative academic average of 3.75 or above.
