Configure Okta Verify App

Receiving Okta codes via SMS/Text messages with not be available for staff after March 5th, 2025.

On February 26,  a popup will appear asking you to setup this new authentication method if you have not already done so.  After March 5, text message codes will no longer be sent.

Please take a moment to review the directions below to will help you.  There are two sets of directions, one for setting up the Okta Verify App after it is required and directions if you want to go ahead and setup your account before it is required.


 

Setting up Okta Verify AFTER it is required.

Note: It is recommended that you login to Okta using your computer, but have your smartphone with you because you will need to scan a QR code with your phone.

  • If you have not setup Okta Verify, a popup will appear asking you to setup Okta Verify.
  • Click on Set Up for the now required Okta Verify
  • Follow the directions on your screen (DO NOT SCAN THE QR CODE IN THE SCREENSHOT BELOW)
  • Download the app in the app store or google play and open the app
  • If there is a welcome screen, select the Get Started button and click through the introduction until the add account button appears
  • Select Organization
  • On your computer screen, make sure the QR code is visible and click Yes, Ready to scan
  • Scan the QR code on your computer screen with your phone
  • Face ID is strongly suggested for ease of use and security – select Enable
  • Once account is added, you receive a confirmation screen – click Done
  • If you do not use face id, you will see the rotating numbers. If so, you will click the eye icon to open the codes with your face id

To setup Okta Verify before it is required

  • Login to Okta
  • Click on the name or image in the top right hand corner then select settings
  • Scroll to the bottom of the screen and select Set up next to Okta Verify
  • Continue with the instructions in the above section
