Student Activities at Southern Crescent Technical College applies to all aspects of of SCTC campus life (clubs, student organizations, athletics, etc.). The office of Student Activities oversees the use of your Student Activity Fees while planning & hosting events at the SCTC Campuses, sponsoring clubs, and even open house sessions or receptions to promote programs and services available to our students.
Southern Crescent Technical College also competes as a Division III member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) as a member of the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA).
The SCTC Lady Tigers completed the 2015 Basketball Season as Runner-up of NJCAA Region XVII & GCAA Division III, and the SCTC Tigers men's basketball team are reigning Region XVII & GCAA Division III Champions.
The Student Government Association allows students to become involved in the decision-making process concerning Southern Crescent Technical College’s policies and regulations, and Student Activity Fund. Additionally, members of SGA help plan social and cultural activities and service projects both on and off-campus.
Meetings are held on a regular basis during the Fall and Spring semesters (usually during the lunch hour). Students are encouraged to attend SGA meetings to express their opinions and to contribute to the planning of what happens at Southern Crescent.
The SGA offers a unique opportunity for personal growth. Members are encouraged to meet new people on campus while learning and enhancing time management, team building, problem solving, and organizational skills.
Students may become involved by contacting the Student Activities Coordinator or coming to any SGA meeting. The only requirements are that you are committed to serving the student body and participate fully in all of the approved activities.

- Fall Festival
- Student Appreciation Day
- Tigers Homecoming and Homecoming Dance
Southern Crescent Technical College encourages student participation and involvement in student organizations and activities related to their areas of interest and to the goals and objectives of the college.
The current list of approved clubs and organizations that are open to all students include:
- Student Government Association (SGA)
- National Technical Honor Society (NTHS)
- Performing and Literary Arts Student Association (PALASA)
- Phi Beta Lambda (PBL)
- Skills USA
- Veteran’s Club
- SCTC Gamer’s Club
There are also some approved clubs that are only open to students in specific program areas:
- Orthopaedic Technology Student Association
- Pharmacy Technician Club
- Student Nurses Association
- Surgical Technology Student Association
Southern Crescent Technical College provides opportunities for its students to participate in intercollegiate and intramural athletics. The Southern Crescent Technical College Tigers compete in men’s basketball and women’s basketball as Division III members of the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA), which is Region XVII of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
In order to be eligible to participate in either of these sports, student athletes are required to meet all eligibility requirements of the NJCAA and agree to read, sign, and abide by all liability waivers, codes of conduct, and/or other forms required by the college.
Participating in athletics at an intercollegiate level at Southern Crescent Technical College can affect your athletic eligibility at other colleges. If you believe you may transfer and wish to participate in athletics at another institution besides Southern Crescent Technical College, please contact the Student Activities Coordinator or Athletic Coordinator for additional information regarding this topic before you attend any workouts, tryouts, or practices for any of Southern Crescent Technical College’s athletic teams.
