Spring 2026 Commencement Ceremony

  • Graduates from Summer 2025, Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 are invited to participate.
  • Students must register for the correct ceremony based on their program of study.

Graduation Requirements

Confirm that you meet academic, GPA, residency, and graduation eligibility requirements.

Apply to Graduate

Submit your Graduation Application and processing fee by the priority deadline.

Step 3

Register for Ceremony

Register by April 6, 2026 and make sure you choose the correct ceremony time.

Step 1: Graduation Requirements

Prior to graduation, each degree, diploma, or certificate student must:

  • Achieve regular program admissions status for the program.
  • Complete all academic requirements and program curriculum requirements.
  • Earn a graduation GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Be in good academic standing with Southern Crescent Technical College.
  • Complete at least 25% of required credit hours at Southern Crescent Technical College.
  • Settle all financial obligations with Southern Crescent Technical College, including the appropriate graduation fee.
  • Submit a Graduation Application with the advisor’s signature at least one term prior to completion to the Registrar’s Office.

Important: The 25% residency requirement does not include transfer credit, military credit, credit by exemption, credit by experience, or articulation credit.

Step 2: Apply to Graduate

Priority Deadline for Program Inclusion: Wednesday, March 25, 2026

Your Graduation Application and $40 non-refundable processing fee must be received by this date for your name to appear in the printed commencement program.

  1. Complete the Application to Graduate.
  2. Submit your completed application to your faculty program advisor for completion.
  3. Submit the completed application to the Registrar’s Office in person or by email at registrar@sctech.edu.
  4. Pay the $40 non-refundable processing fee when the graduation application is submitted.

Step 3: Register for the Ceremony

Registration Deadline: April 6, 2026

Two ceremonies will be held on May 14, 2026. Students must register for the correct ceremony time based on their program of study.

  • All students planning to participate must register online by the designated deadline of Monday, April 6, 2026.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to complete the graduation process, including the application, ceremony registration, regalia purchase, and other graduation-related steps.
  • Each student can have a maximum of four (4) guests.
  • Ceremony will be live streamed at https://www.sctech.edu/live
  • Select only one ceremony registration based on your program.

Instructions for Registered Students

  • Arrive by 8:30 a.m. for check-in and instructions. Late arrival may result in not being allowed to participate.
  • Arrive fully dressed in regalia. All gowns must be zipped, and tassels should be worn on the right.
  • Do not bring personal items such as purses, bags, or hangers.
  • Park in the parking deck adjacent to Trilith LIVE. Do not park in reserved spaces.
  • SPECIAL NOTE: Trilith LIVE is a clear bag facility only. Each person will pass through a security checkpoint upon entering the venue.
  • Enter through the main doors and proceed through the security checkpoint.
  • After security, stop at the check-in tables for your name card and keep it with you at all times.
  • Students involved in an SCTC club or organization should contact the Student Activities Coordinator at 770-229-3049 before graduation day for information about eligible tassels or cords.
  • Traditional high school students participating in the Dual-Enrollment Program should contact their High School Coordinator before graduation day for information about eligible tassels or cords.
  • Participating graduates will receive one credential cover at the ceremony. Official credentials are mailed approximately 8–10 weeks after final grades are received at the end of the graduating term.
  • Each student can have a maximum of four (4) guests.
  • Ceremony will be live streamed at https://www.sctech.edu/live

Step 6: Regalia & Fees

Fees

  • Graduation application processing fee: $40.00 non-refundable
  • Regalia package (cap, gown, stole, tassel): $70.00 + $4.95 Service Fee
  • Regalia is paid directly to Scholastic Images

Ordering Your Regalia

  • An email with the ordering link will be sent after your Graduation Application is received, your $40 processing fee is paid, and your Graduation Ceremony registration is complete.
  • Do not share your ordering link with others.
  • Regalia Order Deadline: April 7, 2026

Pickup / Delivery

  • If you choose pickup, you must pick up your regalia prior to graduation day.
  • If you choose shipping, an additional shipping fee may apply.
  • Regalia pickup will take place on the Griffin Campus only.
  • The pickup date, time, location, and Scholastic Images link will be provided in the regalia package email.

Graduation Day Attire

  • Your complete regalia package should include cap, gown, stole, and tassel.
  • All gowns and caps must be black.
  • Caps and gowns provided or purchased prior to January 2018 may not be used.
  • Make sure your gown and stole are wrinkle-free before graduation day.
  • Wear the tassel on the right side before your credential is conferred.
  • You must wear clothes under your gown.
  • Jeans, shorts, flip flops, and tennis shoes or sneakers are not permitted.
  • Choose comfortable shoes since you will be standing for a while.
  • Cap decorations are allowed as long as there is no obscenity.

Important Regalia Notes

  • It is your responsibility to ensure that your gown fits properly before the day of the ceremony.
  • Make sure you receive a complete regalia package: cap, gown, tassel, and stole.
  • Additional regalia items will not be distributed on the day of the ceremony.
  • There is no storage at the ceremony facility for hangers or personal items.

Step 7: Guests & Venue Rules

Guest Information

  • Due to limited seating capacity, each graduate is respectfully requested to limit attendance to four guests.
  • All guests must remain seated during the ceremony.
  • Guests and students must not stand in the aisles to take pictures.
  • Saving seats is not allowed.
  • Guests requiring special assistance should arrive early. Trilith LIVE is ADA compliant, but SCTC cannot reserve seating for guests with special needs.
  • Guest seating begins at 8:00 a.m. for the 10:00 a.m. ceremony and 12:00 p.m. for the 2:00 p.m. ceremony.
  • All guests enter through the main doors and proceed through the security check.
  • Childcare is not provided. Children must remain under adult supervision at all times.
  • Graduation gifts will be available for purchase at the venue through the SCTC bookstore.
  • Guests should park in the adjacent parking deck.

Clear Bag Policy

  • Clear bags no larger than 12” x 6” x 12”
  • Single-compartment clutches up to 5” x 8” x 2”
  • Diaper bags and medical bags are allowed, subject to inspection
  • Backpacks, luggage, and clear bags over the size limit are not permitted

Prohibited Items

  • Weapons and sharp objects
  • Bags that do not follow the clear bag policy
  • Balloons
  • Strollers and hard-sided luggage
  • Outside food or beverage
  • Glass containers
  • Illegal substances or paraphernalia
  • Noisemaking devices
  • Skateboards, hoverboards, rollerblades, scooters, bicycles, or shoes with wheels
  • Cameras with interchangeable or detached lenses, or fixed lenses larger than 3 inches
  • Drones
  • Tripods, monopods, or selfie sticks
  • Laser pointers, flashlights, or selfie lights
  • Fireworks or flares
  • Signs, flags, banners, or posters larger than 8.5” x 11”
  • Laptops and tablets
  • Frisbees, beach balls, inflatables, or projectiles
  • Facepaint, helmets, or masks
  • Large or golf umbrellas
  • Clothing displaying explicit or derogatory characteristics

Graduate and Guest Conduct

  • All graduates and guests should arrive sober and not under the influence of any substance.
  • Anyone found intoxicated or under the influence will be escorted off the property by law enforcement.
  • SCTC Police Officers and local law enforcement will be on hand for any issues that arise.

Step 8: Honors, Accessibility & Photos

Honors Recognition

  • Honor Graduate with Distinction: Graduation GPA of 4.00, program or credential requiring 18 credit hours or more, printed in the commencement program, and receives a gold medallion.
  • Honor Graduate: Graduation GPA of 3.75 to 3.99, program or credential requiring 18 credit hours or more, printed in the commencement program, and receives an honor cord.
