GRIFFIN, Ga. — Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) is proud to announce a generous $10,000 donation from Amazon to support student success through expanded STEM education opportunities and the support of the college’s Soccer program.
The donation will allow SCTC to expand its Robotics Club program from four to six school districts beginning in Fall 2026, providing more students with access to hands-on learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
Through participation in robotics programs, students develop valuable skills in engineering, programming, automation, problem-solving, teamwork, and innovation. The initiative also introduces students to career pathways connected to SCTC academic programs, including Mechatronics, Industrial Systems Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Programming, Precision Manufacturing, Welding, and other high-demand technical fields.
By engaging students early in STEM education, SCTC is helping build a strong workforce pipeline that prepares the next generation of technicians, engineers, programmers, and industry leaders for careers throughout the region.
In addition to supporting robotics education, Amazon’s contribution will assist in the continued development of SCTC’s Men’s and Women’s Soccer programs as the college begins competition in the National Junior College Athletic Association this fall. The athletics programs are designed to enhance the student experience while promoting leadership, discipline, teamwork, and school spirit.
“We are grateful to Amazon for its continued investment in Southern Crescent Technical College and the students we serve,” said Dr. Irvin T. Clark III, president of SCTC. “This generous donation strengthens our ability to provide transformative educational experiences through both STEM learning and athletics. By supporting robotics and soccer, Amazon is helping students develop the technical, personal, and leadership skills needed to succeed in college, careers, and life.”
The investment reflects a shared commitment to workforce development, educational excellence, and community growth throughout the college’s service area.
“Amazon’s partnership continues to create meaningful opportunities for students across our region,” said Montrese Adger Fuller. “This donation allows us to expand access to innovative STEM programming while also supporting the growth of our athletic programs. Together, these initiatives help students discover their passions, build confidence, and prepare for successful futures in both the workforce and their communities.”
Southern Crescent Technical College commends Amazon for its dedication to student achievement, STEM education, workforce development, and the sustainable growth of the communities it serves. Through partnerships such as this, SCTC continues to expand opportunities that positively impact students and strengthen the regional economy.
