Austin Walker and Jala Morgan Earn NJCAA All-Academic First Team Honors

GRIFFIN, Ga. — Southern Crescent Technical College proudly celebrates the academic excellence of student-athletes Austin Walker and Jala Morgan, who have been named to the NJCAA All-Academic First Team by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
The NJCAA All-Academic program recognizes student-athletes for outstanding achievement in the classroom. To earn First Team distinction, student-athletes must achieve a perfect 4.00 grade point average, placing them among the nation’s top academic performers.
Walker and Morgan exemplify the commitment, discipline, and determination required to excel both academically and athletically. Their recognition reflects not only individual achievement but also the institution’s commitment to supporting student success in every aspect of the collegiate experience.
“Being named to the NJCAA All-Academic First Team is an extraordinary accomplishment,” said SCTC Athletics Director, Donald Hardy, Jr.. “Austin and Jala have demonstrated what it means to be true student-athletes. Their dedication in the classroom, combined with their efforts in competition and on campus, make them outstanding representatives of our college.”
The NJCAA annually honors student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional academic performance. First Team honorees must earn a 4.00 GPA, while Second Team honors recognize GPAs between 3.80 and 3.99, and Third Team honors recognize GPAs between 3.60 and 3.79.
