This month, Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) took another bold step in strengthening campus safety and emergency preparedness by installing 18 additional ZOLL AED Plus units, bringing the total number of lifesaving devices on campus to 39. These advanced defibrillators aren’t just high-tech, they are built for real people in real emergencies.
The ZOLL AED Plus units are known for their intuitive design, providing clear voice prompts and real-time CPR feedback to guide even untrained users through life-saving steps with confidence. With each installation, SCTC reaffirms its commitment to student, staff, and visitor safety.
In support of this initiative, all SCTC police officers recently completed CPR and AED training at Gordon State College. The training ensures that first responders on campus are prepared to act quickly and effectively when seconds count most.
“These devices are powerful tools, but it’s the people behind them that are trained, confident, and ready to assist in an emergency that make the biggest difference,” said SCTC Police Chief Lemuel Mercado.
With every hallway now closer to an AED and every officer equipped with lifesaving skills, SCTC is proving that safety isn’t just a policy, it is a priority.
