McDonough, Ga. — Southern Crescent Technical College’s Foundation recently brought together community leaders, business and industry partners, supporters, faculty, and students for a Community Engagement Dinner at the College’s Henry County Center.

The event highlighted SCTC’s Nursing, Mechatronics, and Cardiovascular Technology programs and showcased how technical education is preparing students for high-demand careers throughout Henry County and the surrounding region.

Students from each of the featured programs took center stage during the evening, sharing their personal experiences at SCTC, discussing their hands-on training, and describing how their programs are preparing them to enter or advance in the workforce. Faculty members also provided program updates and insight into the skills and training students receive.

SCTC President Dr. Irvin T. Clark said hearing directly from students demonstrates the impact technical education has on both individuals and the communities the College serves.

“Our students are the clearest reflection of our mission at Southern Crescent Technical College. Their stories demonstrate how high-quality technical education, strong instruction, and meaningful industry partnerships can create pathways to rewarding careers while strengthening the workforce of our region. We are grateful for the community and industry partners who continue to invest in our students and support the work of this College.”

The dinner also created an opportunity for guests to connect with College leaders, faculty, and students while learning more about SCTC’s workforce development efforts and growing partnerships throughout Henry County.

Montrese Adger Fuller, Vice President of Institutional Advancement & Marketing, said the event was designed to strengthen those relationships while keeping students at the center of the conversation.

“Community engagement is essential to the work we do. Bringing our partners together with our students and faculty allows them to see firsthand the impact of their support and the quality of education and training taking place at Southern Crescent Technical College. These relationships help us expand opportunities for students while responding to the workforce needs of Henry County and the communities we serve.”

The SCTC Foundation recognized Impact Office Interiors as the presenting sponsor of the Community Engagement Dinner and thanked the businesses, organizations, and community leaders whose continued support helps advance student success and workforce development.

The evening concluded with opportunities for additional conversation and engagement among guests, students, faculty, and College leadership.

Southern Crescent Technical College serves students throughout its eight-county service area and provides education and workforce training designed to prepare graduates for careers in high-demand industries.
