Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) celebrated a momentous occasion on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, as the College hosted its semi-annual Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Pinning Ceremony at Relevant Church in Locust Grove. The event marked a significant milestone in the journey of 44 dedicated nursing graduates who are now prepared to take the next step toward becoming registered nurses (RNs).
The ceremony represented the culmination of hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment demonstrated by the graduates throughout their educational journey at SCTC. The Pinning Ceremony, a revered tradition in the nursing profession, symbolizes the transition from nursing student to professional nurse. Friends, family members, faculty, and distinguished guests gathered to witness this meaningful rite of passage and celebrate the accomplishments of the graduates.
Dr. Irvin Clark, President of Southern Crescent Technical College, delivered the opening remarks and congratulated the graduates on reaching this important milestone.
“Nursing is one of the most meaningful and impactful professions,” said Dr. Clark. “Today reflects the countless hours of dedication, sacrifice, and perseverance each of you invested to reach this moment. Southern Crescent Technical College is proud of your accomplishments, and we are excited to see the difference you will make in hospitals, clinics, and communities across our region.”
Kellye McRae served as the guest speaker for the ceremony and encouraged graduates as they begin their professional nursing careers.
The ASN graduates included Eromwon Blessing Adibuah, Mwuese Aliu, Ashlie Alston, Mary Barfield, Chelsea Beaty, Brennen Brewer, Daniel Bright, Amy Burns, Jordan Bynon, Mary Castenada, LaTonya Character, Cassey Cobb, Caitlyn Deyton, Lakesha Dorsey, Grace Eady, Shaquanna Forbes, Justin Gearhardt, Nicole Gearhardt, Takailla Greensword, Kathryn Hatlee, Souny Thapvongsa, Kiara Harris, Dyna Henderson, Elizabeth Hensarling, Brooklyn Hernandez, Jasmin Herrera Jaquez, Atarah Israel, Candas Ivy, Peyton Lynch, Rachel Jeane, Carolyn Johnson, Katherine Lee, Crismar Martinez, Megan Mills, Jessica Pauter, Angel Ramos Jr., Bryson Richardson, Miranda Rogers, Paten Royals, Hellen Sakwa, Nakita Sutton, Ashley Trammell, Lauren Turman, and Raven Williams.
Southern Crescent Technical College also recognized and thanked the ASN faculty and instructors for their dedication, mentorship, and unwavering support of students throughout the program. The College extends sincere appreciation to Stephanie Rogers, MSN Ed., RN, ASN Program Coordinator; Dr. Samantha Bell, DNP, MSN Ed., RN, Clinical Coordinator/ASN Instructor; Wendy Greenway, MSN, AGACNP-BC, ASN Instructor; Dr. Linda Walker, PhD, APRN, GNP-BC, ASN Instructor; and Kimberly Wilmoth, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, ASN Instructor. Their commitment to excellence and student success played a vital role in preparing these future nurses for careers in healthcare.
These graduates are now poised to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), a pivotal step toward becoming licensed professionals in the nursing field. Their education at Southern Crescent Technical College has equipped them with the knowledge, skills, and clinical expertise needed to excel in their careers and meet the growing healthcare needs of the communities they will serve.
