Griffin, GA — Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) is excited to announce significant progress in the development of its men’s and women’s soccer programs as the College prepares for their official launch in Fall 2026.

Both teams are scheduled to begin their inaugural intercollegiate seasons the weekend of August 21–22, 2026, competing in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). This milestone marks a major step forward in expanding student life and athletic opportunities at SCTC.

During Fall 2025, SCTC’s soccer programs competed as club teams against a mix of collegiate club programs and GCAA opponents. This initial season provided valuable experience for student-athletes and coaching staff, helping to build a strong foundation and better understand the level of competition as the teams transition into official conference play.

“We are incredibly proud of the progress our soccer programs have made in a short amount of time,” said Donald Hardy, Athletic Coordinator at Southern Crescent Technical College. “Our student-athletes gained meaningful experience last season, and we are confident they will be competitive as we enter conference play this fall.”

Currently, 19 men’s soccer players and 11 women’s soccer players are in the recruitment pipeline awaiting signing status. SCTC is actively working to grow both rosters, with a focused effort on increasing participation on the women’s team to ensure a strong and competitive inaugural season.

Both teams have finalized their schedules for the upcoming season, with game officials already secured. All home matches will be hosted at Locust Grove High School, where SCTC is in the process of renewing its partnership agreement to continue utilizing the facility.

The launch of SCTC’s soccer programs reflects the College’s continued commitment to enhancing the student experience, promoting engagement, and providing new opportunities for student success both inside and outside the classroom.
