Southern Crescent Technical College Student Wins 1st Place in Idea Accelerator Pitch Competition
GRIFFIN, GA — Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) proudly congratulates Kteonia Gunder, a Henry County student, for earning 1st place in the Idea Accelerator Pitch Competition held last night at the SCTC Henry Center.
Gunder impressed judges with her innovative business concept and the development of an app.
As part of the Idea Accelerator Program, Gunder spent four weeks working closely with a business coach to refine her concept, conduct research, and prepare her pitch. The program equips students with key entrepreneurial skills, including customer discovery, market research, business modeling, and revenue development.
“The sessions were very informative, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I learned a lot, and I am currently going through beta testing,” said Gunder.
For her winning presentation, Gunder was awarded $1,000 to support the launch and growth of her business.
“This program gives students the opportunity to discover and realize they are ready to take the bold next step toward becoming entrepreneurs,” said SCTC President Dr. Clark. “We want more students to take advantage of opportunities like this. Georgia is the number one state to do business, and entrepreneurship plays a major role in that success.”
The Idea Accelerator Program concludes with a pitch competition where students present their business ideas for funding and feedback from a panel of judges.
Southern Crescent Technical College extends its appreciation to Google for supporting this initiative and helping empower students to turn innovative ideas into reality.
