Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) Foundation is proud to announce the successful completion of its Fiscal Year ‘26 Internal Tiger Fundraising Campaign, raising an impressive $33,318.94 through the generous contributions of the College’s faculty and staff. With 68% of full-time employees participating, this year’s campaign continues a strong tradition of employee investment in student success.
The Internal Tiger Campaign, which ran from March 20 to April 24, 2025, supports student scholarships and emergency assistance through employee donations. Since its inception five years ago, SCTC faculty and staff have pledged more than $267,460.62 through this internal initiative. These funds have helped award over 485 scholarships to students across the College’s eight-county service area.
Highlighting this year’s campaign, 39 employees pledged one percent of their salaries, joining the prestigious President’s One Percent Club—an elite group of donors who demonstrate exceptional commitment to SCTC students.
“I am so proud of our employees and the investment they are making in our students,” said SCTC President Dr. Irvin Clark. “The participation and amount of funds raised are awesome! I applaud the team competition and cannot wait to honor the winning team, the Surfing Tigers, soon. I’m impressed with their spirit!”
As part of the campaign, faculty and staff were randomly assigned to 15 teams to encourage friendly competition. The Surfing Tigers took top honors this year with 94% participation and $4,799.64 pledged. As the winning team, the Surfing Tigers will enjoy a catered luncheon with Dr. Clark, a dedicated parking space, and a student scholarship named in their honor. Team members include: Ashley Stout, Stacy Acey, Mark Avery, Becky Cobb, Cynthia Conner, Wendy Gladden, Lyonel Jimenez, Shelly Leidig, Amy Mays, Monique McCreary, Jean Mills, Chibuzor Nwankwo, Kim Santerre, Leah Santerre, and Brandy Tyson.
Finishing in a close second were the Campaign Warriors, who pledged $2,853.48 with 59% participation. Team members include: Dr. Alan Stanfield, Tamkia Baugh-Allen, Sherman Brown, Robin Burns, Billy Elliott, Blaise Naggatz, Kathlyn Strozier, Mandy Wood, Amber Clark, and Drew Todd.
The Southern Crescent Technical College Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports the College’s mission by raising and managing funds to assist students and promote institutional development. Contributions to the Foundation directly impact student lives, with many recipients noting they could not have pursued their education without scholarship support.
Numerous giving opportunities are available for donors interested in supporting SCTC students through scholarships, naming rights, bequests, and in-kind gifts. For more information, contact the Office of Institutional Advancement at 770-229-3417 or email foundation@sctech.edu.
