GRIFFIN, GA – Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) is deeply saddened to share the passing of its former President, Dr. Kathy S. Love, a dedicated leader and lifelong advocate for technical education in Georgia.
Dr. Love served as the President of Flint River Technical Institute (now part of Southern Crescent Technical College) from 2001 to 2008, where she made a lasting impact on the College and the broader community through her commitment to student success, workforce development, and educational excellence.
Throughout her distinguished career within the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), Dr. Love provided visionary leadership at multiple institutions. After serving as President of the Flint River Technical Institute, Dr. Love became President of Savannah Technical College. Her previous administrative roles included Vice President of Instructional and Student Services at Middle Georgia Technical College (1994–2001) and Vice President of Administrative Services at South Georgia Technical College (1990–1994).
A dedicated scholar, Dr. Love earned a B.S. in Computer Science and an M.S. in Business Administration from Georgia Southwestern State University, an Education Specialist degree from Columbus State University, and a Doctor of Education (D.Ed.) from Northcentral University. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was also actively involved in numerous civic, business, and charitable organizations, contributing greatly to the communities she served.

We honor her memory and extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.”
The Southern Crescent Technical College Board of Directors, Foundation Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, and students express profound gratitude for Dr. Love’s indelible contributions to the College and the State of Georgia. Her vision and leadership established a strong foundation for the institution’s ongoing success and growth.
