Tender Tech Child Development Center, located on Southern Crescent Technical College’s Flint River Campus in Thomaston, is proud to celebrate a historic milestone during the 2025–2026 school year as we honor the largest graduating group in the program’s history. This year, 32 children successfully completed their early learning journey across two Pre-K classes, marking the largest graduating class in the center’s history.
This achievement follows another significant milestone for Tender Tech: the addition of a second Pre-K class in August 2025, marking the first time the center expanded to serve two graduating groups. This growth reflects the increasing demand for high-quality early childhood education in our region and underscores Tender Tech’s continued commitment to serving children and families throughout the Upson County community.
The expansion represents more than increased enrollment—it signifies a meaningful investment in the future of our youngest learners. By providing access to exceptional early learning experiences, Tender Tech is helping build a strong educational foundation that supports long-term academic success and kindergarten readiness for children entering the next phase of their educational journey.
The impact on the Upson County community is substantial. Families have gained greater access to trusted, high-quality early childhood education, while the program continues to support workforce development by ensuring parents have reliable childcare options as they pursue careers and educational opportunities. Tender Tech’s continued growth reflects Southern Crescent Technical College’s commitment to meeting community needs through innovative and responsive programming.
“This milestone is a testament to the dedication of our Tender Tech team, the support of Southern Crescent Technical College, and the trust our families place in us each day,” said Melissa Jackson, Executive Director of Early Learning and Strategic Initiatives. “Celebrating 32 graduates across two classes demonstrates the incredible growth of our program and our shared commitment to investing in the future of our children and strengthening our community through early education.”
“At Southern Crescent Technical College, we understand that education begins long before students enter our classrooms as adults. Tender Tech plays a vital role in preparing children for lifelong learning while also supporting working families throughout our community,” said Dr. Irvin T. Clark, President of Southern Crescent Technical College. “The growth of this program and the success of these 32 graduates reflect our commitment to investing in educational opportunities that strengthen families, support workforce development, and create brighter futures for the citizens we serve.”
As these graduates prepare to take their next steps into kindergarten, Tender Tech celebrates not only their accomplishments, but also the bright futures ahead of them.
Congratulations to the Tender Tech Class of 2026!
