The Eugene Edwards Foundation Inc. has generously donated $6,539.54 to the Southern Crescent Technical College Foundation, Inc., establishing the Eugene Edwards Plumbing Scholarship. This scholarship, established by Annette Hardge Edwards, will provide financial assistance to students pursuing their state plumber’s license, honoring the legacy of her late husband Eugene Edwards.
The Eugene Edwards Plumbing Scholarship will award a $200 textbook and toolbox scholarship each Fall and Spring semester to eligible students in the Plumbing program at Southern Crescent Technical College. To qualify, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and meet the standards set by the college. Scholarship funds may be used for program-required textbooks, tools, uniforms, equipment, and other necessary supplies.
Mr. Eugene Edwards was a dedicated Master Plumber for over 40 years and a respected leader in the Henry County community. His commitment to service extended beyond his profession, as he served as the branch president of the Henry County NAACP for ten years before being honored as President Emeritus. His passion for education, workforce development, and community advancement continues to inspire future generations through this scholarship.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Eugene Edwards Foundation Inc. for their generosity and commitment to supporting students in the skilled trades,” said Candice Buckley, Interim Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Southern Crescent Technical College. “This scholarship will help ease the financial burden for students as they work toward obtaining their plumber’s license and establishing successful careers.”
