Thomaston, GA — SCTC proudly congratulates Hooper Daman, a Cybersecurity degree student from Upson County, for earning first place in the Idea Accelerator Pitch Competition held last night.

Daman and other students in the Idea Accelerator Program spent four weeks working closely with business coaches to refine their concepts, conduct research, and prepare for the final pitch presentation. The program equips students with valuable entrepreneurial skills, including customer discovery, market research, business modeling, and revenue development.

For the winning presentation, Daman was awarded $1,000 to support the launch and growth of his business venture.

“This program gives students the opportunity to discover that they are ready to take the bold next step toward becoming entrepreneurs,” said SCTC President Dr. Irvin Clark. “We want more students to take advantage of opportunities like this. Georgia is the number one state for business, and entrepreneurship plays a major role in that success.”

The Idea Accelerator Program concludes with a pitch competition where students present their business ideas for funding opportunities and feedback from a panel of judges.

Southern Crescent Technical College extends its appreciation to Google for supporting this initiative and helping empower students to turn innovative ideas into reality.
