Protected: Summer Pre-Apprenticeship 2024

Overview

The Summer Pre-Apprenticeship program will introduce high school juniors and seniors to industry-recognized technical skills at Southern Crescent Technical College while providing local businesses the opportunity to employ program participants. Those selected for this program will (1) enroll in SCTC’s 2024 8-week summer session, concurrently undertaking an Employability 1000 course while (2) serving as pre-apprentices for local employers.

Participants will have the opportunity to choose their area of career interest and engage in interviews with local employers participating in the Summer Pre-Apprenticeship 2024.

Over a span of approximately 7 weeks, students will be employed on-site by these employers, gaining valuable insights into careers aligned with their chosen fields.

Complementing their practical experiences, students will reinforce their learning through assignments and activities within the SCTC Employability 1000 course. Additionally, participants will document their experiences by creating a comprehensive portfolio showcasing their contributions both with the employer and at SCTC.
