Tiger Portal Overview

Overview

On March 23rd, 2025, Banner Web for students will be updated to a new app called Ellucian Experience.  At Southern Crescent, we will refer to it as Tiger Portal.  Tiger Portal will give you direct links to all of relevant tasks that you would need to complete in Banner.

Accessing Tiger Portal

  1. Log into the Okta portal.
  2. Click on the Tiger Portal icon.

  3. Enter your full Southern Crescent student email address for the username. Be sure to use your full email address with the @stu.sctech.edu.
  4. If you have already logged into Okta, you should NOT be prompted for a password.  If you are, then something was entered incorrectly in the email address field.
  5. After the login is complete, you will be redirected to the new Tiger Portal.

 

Navigation Overview

The Tiger Portal interface consists of cards.  Each card contains links or embedded information.  We recommend that you click through the cards to get comfortable with the new layout.  All of the information that was in the old Banner Web is available here, just the way you access it has changed.

My Account

Financial Aid
The My Account card give you information. regarding your Banner Account such as:

  • Account Detail by Term (see what is owed for the term and pay by credit card or Nelnet plan)
  • Tax Notification (1098-T form)
  • Personal Information (personal details, email addresses, phone numbers, address, etc.)
  • Student Profile (curriculum and courses, prior education and testing, transcript, registration and schedule, view grades, Degree Works)
  • Address/Name Change Form
 The Financial Aid Card provides links to:

  • Your Financial Aid Information
  • Nelnet Enrollment (Payment Plan)

Registrar

Class Schedule
The registrar card gives you access your transcripts and graduation information.

  • Official Transcript
  • Unofficial Transcript
  • Graduation
  • Enrollment Verification
  • Graduate Credentials
 The schedule card gives you a schedule of your in-person/on-campus classes in a calendar format.  Online classes are listed.

Degree Progress

Classes
If you have a plan in Degree Works, this card gives you a visual overview of your progress.  It will show:

  • Your major, percentage of completion, and overall GPA
  • Click View audit to go into Degree Works and view more information
 This card will give you information about the classes you are currently enrolled in.

Student Registration

Discover More
The Student Registration Card will be used to register for you classes.  This card includes links for the following:

  • Information on preparing to register
  • The registration link
  • Registration history
  • Courses offered for the term
  • Course Catalog contains information about the courses
 Your Tiger Portal is pre-populated with the essential cards that you need.  New cards may be added as they become available.  You can click the Discover More button to view and add other cards to customize your Tiger Portal.

Mobile Apps

The new Ellucian Experience/Tiger Portal App does have a mobile app.  However, we recommend accessing Tiger Portal from a laptop or desktop computer as the bigger screen gives you a better experience.
