Instructions to take the FREE online BUSN 1440 Document Production typing test:
To be eligible to enroll in BUSN 1440 Document Production, you must type at least 25 words per minute with 3 or less errors on a 3-minute timed writing. You have two opportunities to take the online typing test.
To take the online typing test:
- Step 1—Click this link: http://sctc1440.assesstyping.com
- Step 2—Click Start
- Step 3—Click Next
- Step 4—Enter your SCTC email address, your first name, your last name, your SCTC Student ID, and the program you are enrolled in. Check the consent box. Click Next.
- Step 5—You can opt to take the practice test, or you can skip it and take the actual online typing test. You can practice as many times as you want; however, you have two opportunities to take the actual online typing test.
- Step 6—When you complete the online typing test, your results will be emailed to you.
- Step 7—If you passed the test with 90% or higher, forward your email results to a CAP Center advisor, janis.phillips@sctech.edu or linda.henley@sctech.edu. In your email, include the CRN and semester you want to enroll in BUSN 1440 Document Production.
After The Test
- If you did not pass: If you did not pass the typing test after two attempts, you must register for BUSN 1100 Introduction to Keyboarding which is the pre-requisite for BUSN 1440. You do not need advisor approval to register for BUSN 1100 Introduction to Keyboarding.
