The family of Becky Parris Rector has recently established a Nursing Scholarship to honor her life and commitment to technical education. This ongoing $300 scholarship will be awarded each semester to deserving single parents enrolled in the Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) Nursing Program. Recipients will be permitted to use the funds for their tuition, textbooks, equipment, or licensure examinations.
Her life is such a positive example of a single mother who balanced being a mother and acquiring a degree in Nursing to provide an outstanding quality of life for her two children. By establishing the Becky Parris Rector Nursing Scholarship, the family will honor her life and help other single parents complete the Nursing Program and make the American dream come true for their families. Becky Parris Rector is the mother of James Peas, Department Chair of Professional Services at Southern Crescent Technical College.
The scholarship will be administered through the Southern Crescent Technical College Foundation and will begin Summer Semester of 2021. The Foundation is a non-profit organization organized under Georgia state law that provides guidance and helps secure funding for Southern Crescent Technical College.
