Southern Crescent Technical College Electrical Systems Technology student Dallin Reeve was recently awarded a gold medal in Customer Service at the national SkillsUSA Competition.  This competition, held June 21-24, 2021, allowed state gold medalists to compete with others winners from across the nation.

SCTC President Dr. Alvetta Thomas stated, “We are so very proud of Dallin and his gold medal from the national SkillsUSA competition.  His success is truly a testament to the great education and leadership opportunities that are being provided here at Southern Crescent Technical College.  I congratulate him on behalf of the entire campus community and am honored to be able to celebrate his successes with him.”

“Winning a gold medal in the national SkillsUSA competition was such a cool experience and I am so thankful for this opportunity and this College!  I didn’t know much about the organization until I joined, but I have learned so much about myself through this process.  I am so glad I took this chance and I want to encourage other to do the same.  Your college experience can be as much as you want it to be. It would be just as easy to not to participate in anything other than my classes, but there would be so much I would be missing out on. These experiences are priceless and I would hope more people would get involved so they can create more opportunities for themselves.”

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled work force.  They are a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical, and skilled service occupations, including health occupations.

Dallin is very active on campus, serving as the Student Government Association President as well as a member of National Technical Honor Society.
