Date Posted: January 4, 2022

On Monday, December 13, 2021, representatives of Wesleyan College and Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) signed a Transfer Articulation Agreement to provide educational opportunities for current and potential SCTC students. Agreement to this partnership requires a commitment by both institutions to facilitate a student’s ability to transfer select coursework without jeopardizing the intended mission and stated goals of any participating entity. Open to all female students, the purpose of this partnership is to facilitate college completion and empower the future workforce.

“We are thrilled to enter into this partnership with Wesleyan College and we are excited to add this agreement to our growing list of seamless transfer options,” said SCTC President Dr. Alvetta P. Thomas. “As we strive to expand opportunities to assist our students in reaching their educational goals, these agreements not only benefit our students, but also our institution and the communities we serve by providing accessible pathways for our graduates who wish to continue their studies to earn a bachelor’s degree. This partnership and the expanded education offerings it provides demonstrate the commitment both institutions have to creating meaningful educational opportunities for our students. At the end of the day, it is our goal to create strong partnerships in order to build strong students, strong careers and strong communities.”

A Southern Crescent Technical College student having a minimum 2.50 GPA for all academic work attempted and an associate of applied science, associate of arts, or associate of science will be admitted. Admission to Wesleyan College does not guarantee admission to specific majors or programs. Students must meet minimum admission requirements specific to select majors or programs to be considered for admission into such majors or programs.

According to Wesleyan College President Vivia L. Folwer, “With its strong academic majors, supportive campus environment, and signature From Here to Career program, Wesleyan College will provide an excellent next step for women who complete associate degrees from Southern Crescent Technical College. Our academic advisors and admissions counselors will work with them from their matriculation to SCTC to their transfer to Wesleyan, ensuring their pathways are clear and efficient. Upon entrance to Wesleyan College, they will become part of our 185 year-old tradition of educating women for leadership in professions.”
